TransFair e.V. was founded in 1992 as a non-profit organization and represents Fairtrade in Germany. The overarching goal is to support disadvantaged producer families in Africa, Asia and Latin America through fair trade so that they can improve their living and working conditions in a self-determined way. The joint work is based on consistent equality, which enables all participants to have a democratic say and particularly promotes women.

TransFair does not trade in goods itself, but awards the Fairtrade seal in Germany to products that have been produced in accordance with international Fairtrade standards. In order to raise awareness and educate people about its work, Fairtrade Germany pursues a broad campaign and advocacy work and is in regular contact with trade and politics.
