The Bonn Science Shop sees itself as a mediator and bridge builder between civil society and science. Through its work, WILA aims to help tackle challenges such as climate change, environmental protection and social justice. At the heart of its educational and project work is the vision of motivating and empowering people to competently shape their living environment.

The  "Thousands of Gardens - Thousands of Species" (opens in a new tab) project is one of the latest projects and aims to promote biodiversity in local gardens in order to counteract insect mortality, protect new habitats for native animals and plants and at the same time create valuable spaces for people to experience nature for themselves.
