Stadtfrüchtchen is an urban gardening initiative right in the heart of Bonn. Imke Feist and Miriam Brink, two former Master's students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, set about bringing an unused green space to life in spring 2017, right behind Bertha-von-Suttner-Platz. Their delicious mission: to plant edibles in the middle of Bonn and connect the neighborhood.

Producing vegetables on site not only avoids long transport routes and thus CO2 emissions, but the cultivation of regional and rare varieties also supports urban biodiversity. The garden is also an oasis of peace, an insect paradise, a place of learning and a communicative meeting place for all interested parties.
