The Museum Koenig Bonn, Leibniz Institute for Animal Biodiversity, is an independent research institution. Its worldwide tasks include researching and documenting global biodiversity and how it is influenced by environmental changes and evolution. The investigation of the structures and functions of ecosystems is also one of the Museum Koenig's focal points, as are the development of methods and the study of the history of science.
"Our blue planet - life in a network" - the title of the museum's permanent exhibition makes it clear that everything in nature is connected. In the fascinatingly presented habitats, this becomes clear as in a "journey around the world in the smallest of spaces". Young and old alike can experience the exhibitions "African savannah", the "North and South Poles", the "Rainforest" and much more.
