Competence Center for Horticulture (KoGa), Klein-Altendorf Campus

The Horticultural Competence Center combines horticultural science, consulting and practice through a partnership between the University of Bonn, the Rheinpfalz Rural Citizens Service Center, the NRW Chamber of Agriculture and the Jülich Research Center.

Through joint research and development projects, KoGa deals with the current problems of horticultural practice while maintaining high scientific standards.

Since 2016, KoGa has been working with other partners in Germany on the "Ecological diversity in orchards" project. The aim of the project is to implement, evaluate and continuously adapt modern management methods to increase biodiversity in organic and integrated commercial orchards on selected farms. This exemplary commitment was recognized and awarded as an official project of the UN Decade on Biodiversity in 2020.
