Since 2005, the initiative has been actively campaigning for the redesign of the old Ermekeil barracks in Bonn in order to establish a space for constructive dialog, new forms of coexistence and integrative and sustainable usage concepts.

These include the  sewing and repair café (opens in a new tab), which invites people to "repair instead of throw away" on a monthly basis. This not only conserves resources that are overused by constant new consumption, but also reduces waste and saves money. In a friendly atmosphere over coffee and tea, it quickly becomes clear how much more fun it is to repair things together instead of just buying new ones.
