The Bund für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND) is committed to protecting nature and the environment. For 45 years, the association has been working independently and on a non-profit basis to preserve a future worth living in, for nature, clean air, clean water and healthy food. Environmental education and the promotion of ecologically and socially sustainable development are top priorities.

One of the most recent projects is the "Garden Dormouse Tracker": the dormouse is a small relative of the edible dormouse and is easily recognizable by its "Zorro mask". However, the population has declined dramatically in recent years and the project aims to help save the garden dormouse - and thus a piece of biodiversity.
